邱烨是一位美籍华裔绘画与雕塑家。她在上海长大，最近毕业于达特茅斯学院，主修艺术和计算机科学。邱烨的作品探讨在各国流散居住的群体中所谓家与归属感的概念。她曾经居住于许多不同的地方，从纽约北部到上海和新加坡，并想知道那些构成她家的碎片是否分散于这些地方之间。邱烨通过象征丰富的符号和魔幻现实主义的元素来探索她与她所存在的历史之间的众多差异。从空间，语言，文化，到时间。什么意味着永远做一位在自己身体与居住的空间内毫无归属感的陌生人？这些正是她的作品所探讨的疑问。

Annie Rui Qiu is a Chinese-American artist working in painting and sometimes sculpture. She was raised in Shanghai and is a recent graduate of Dartmouth College, where she studied studio art and computer science. Qiu’s work examines how the notions of home and belonging operate within a diaspora. She has lived in many different places, from upstate New York to Shanghai and Singapore, and she wonders if the pieces of what constitutes home are scattered between them all. Qiu uses symbolic imagery and elements of magical realism to investigate the multitudes of differences that separate her from the past she is a part of. Space, language, culture, time. Her work asks what it means to be perpetually foreign – to the spaces she inhabits and herself as well.
