 展览导语 Exhibition Introduction 

图像中真相的不连续性与存在的不连续性相似吗?当你站在某个瞬间,来自未来的想象和来自过去的经验的意义构成了在场的叙事,它填补了未来的空虚和不确定性,并嵌入了存在的动机。瞬间,在生命的线性和时间测量中,我们将个体瞬间的经历划分成序列并加以叙述。

本次展览环绕着时间流逝的绵延状态和记忆的跳跃与永存,通过对童年的追溯,呈现对成长的感知、家庭的联结与自我内在矛盾。影像作品在一种悬置状态中游走旁观,记录在公共广场空间中处于生命历程不同时间阶段的游乐群体。绘画通过重拾内化的孩童时期的美术训练,用直觉和本能的方法进行日记式自我探索;绘画作品自身在即兴和不确定性中生长,用动态影像中的时间观进行绘画行动,最后呈现的画面映射出不可复制的当下时刻和未经思考的隐秘思绪。

Is the discontinuity of truth in the image similar to the discontinuity of existence? When you stand at the instantaneous moment, the meaning of imagination from the future and experience from the past constitute the present narrative, it fills the emptiness and uncertainty of the coming future and embeds the motivation of existence. Instantaneous, in the linear and time measurement of life, we divide the experience of individual moments and narrative it into sequences.

This exhibition revolves around the continuous state of the passage of time and the jump and permanence of memory. The entire process is looking back to the state of childhood,  it presents the perception of growth, the connection of family, and the internal contradiction of oneself. The video works wandering and watching in a suspended state, and record the amusement groups at different time stages of their life course in the public square space. The paintings carry out diary self-exploration with an intuitive and instinctive methodology by regaining the internalized childhood art training; The painting itself grows in improvisation and uncertainty. It uses the concept of time in the moving images to paint. The final picture reflects the current moment that won’t repeat and the secret thoughts without thinking.

黄韵璇是一位电影与影像艺术创作者,目前工作于上海。她于2018年毕业于加州艺术学院(CalArts)获艺术硕士学位。她的创作媒介涉及电影,视频艺术,影像装置,行为艺术和摄影等。黄韵璇的作品透过强烈且独特的视觉语言风格将自身的个人态度和社会思考经过抽象的影像表达出来。

在她的作品中具有对潜意识的充分探索和再造体验,将现实世界通过超现实风格的审美重现,使用日常生活中常被忽略的现成品去唤起观众潜意识对物品的联结以及个人情感。黄韵璇的影像装置作品,通过建立一个沉浸式的场域,邀请观众在空间中感受先锋的音频和怪诞的影像,从而得到每个个体独特的观看体验。黄韵璇的影像作品曾在欧洲和美国参加多个电影节,装置作品曾参加多个群展和一个个展。包括Oaxaca电影节(墨西哥),On Art电影节(波兰),Sphinx艺术节(希腊),Eminent Domain女性艺术家群展(美国,纽约),Thymele Arts画廊群展(美国,洛杉矶),Bijou电影节(美国,圣塔克拉利塔)。

Yunxuan Huang is a filmmaker and video artist based in Shanghai, China. Her works across media include film, video, performance art, and installation. Huang’s artworks have boldly aesthetic with the critical strong view of social issues, political statements embedded in each project through rich visual language. 

In her works contains rich subconscious experiences, recreate the realistic scenes in surrealistic aesthetics, revoke. subconsciousness and personal feelings from ready-made objects. Inviting viewers to enter an immersive environment with radical sound and uncanny, beautiful visual experience. She holds an MFA in film and video from the California Institute of the Arts. Her works have been exhibited in a number of group exhibitions and one solo exhibition in the United States and Europe, her films have been selected and screened at festivals internationally, including Oaxaca Film Festival, Mexico; On Art Festival, Poland; The Sphinx Festival, Greece; Eminent Domain Feminist group show, New York; Thymele Arts Gallery, Los Angeles;Bijou Festival, Santa Clarita.

公共游乐设施中具有共通性的视觉符号一直持续地吸引着我,视频关于过去两年来我作为“数字游民”在各地记录下的碎片瞬间,作为休闲游乐场所的广场是开放的、邀请的,我彼时身处空间之中,它所包含之物却使我不能介入。

The intercommunity visual symbols in public amusement facilities have always attracted me. The video is about the fragment moments shot by me as a ‘Digital nomad’ in various places in the past two years. The square as a leisure and amusement place is open and invited. I was in that space at that time, but the things it contained made me unable to intervene.
